The Friday nearest to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Dec 3)
Each year, on the Friday nearest to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Imams and khateebs across the world dedicate their khutbah to reviving a prophetic vision of mercy, dignity, and belonging for all believers.
The Prophet ﷺ welcomed and empowered companions with disabilities — from Ibn Umm Maktum (RA), appointed a mu’adhin, to others whose service shaped our early community. His message remains clear: dignity is not in ability, but in devotion.
“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others.”
— Al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ
By dedicating your khutbah on Friday, November 28, you help hearts turn to mercy, minds to awareness, and communities to action. From the minbar, we can challenge stigma, champion accessibility, and make every masjid a home of rahmah and karamah.
- Encourage compassion and remove stigma.
- Share Qur’anic guidance and prophetic examples.
- Inspire inclusive, accessible spaces for all.
